The Legal Employer.
Without the Hassle.

An Employer of Record is a third party that takes on the legal responsibilities of employing your workforce. When you use GTA Staffing as your EOR, we become the employer on paper, handling every payroll, tax, and compliance obligation under Canadian and Ontario law.

You retain full day-to-day control over the worker. You direct the tasks, set the hours, and manage performance. We handle everything else: payroll processing, statutory deductions, WSIB coverage, employment contracts, benefits, and termination procedures.

It is the fastest, safest way to bring workers on in Ontario without setting up a legal entity, hiring an HR team, or navigating employment law yourself.

How It Works

Three steps from decision to first day of work.

01
You Identify the Worker
You find the person you want to hire, whether through your own network, a job posting, or through GTA Staffing's placement service. You decide who does the work.
02
We Onboard Them Legally
GTA Staffing issues the employment contract, sets up payroll, registers the worker under our WSIB account, and handles all compliance documentation before their first day.
03
You Direct the Work
The worker shows up and does what you hired them to do. You manage their day-to-day tasks and performance. We handle every employer obligation behind the scenes, on every pay cycle.

Built for These Situations

EOR is not a one-size-fits-all product. Here is where it makes the most sense.

Foreign Companies Entering Ontario
You want to hire in Ontario before incorporating here. Our EOR lets you bring workers on compliantly from day one without registering a Canadian business entity.
Businesses Scaling Contract Workers
You are growing your contract workforce quickly and need to offload the compliance burden. EOR keeps your headcount flexible without adding HR overhead or misclassification risk.
Your First Canadian Hire
Hiring your first employee in Canada means navigating CPP, EI, ESA, and WSIB with zero prior experience. Our EOR removes every unknown and gets your hire started without the learning curve.
Project-Based or Seasonal Work
You need workers for a defined period with a clean end date. EOR handles onboarding and offboarding compliantly, including ROE filing, so there are no loose ends when the project wraps.
Avoiding Worker Misclassification
Using independent contractors for roles that look like employment is a growing liability in Ontario. EOR properly classifies and employs workers, removing your exposure to CRA and Ministry of Labour audits.
Reducing Internal HR Costs
Maintaining a full HR function for a small or mid-size workforce is expensive. EOR gives you institutional-grade employment infrastructure at a fraction of the cost of building it in-house.

Common Questions

An Employer of Record is a company that legally employs workers on behalf of another business. When GTA Staffing acts as your EOR, we appear as the employer on the employment contract, payroll records, and government filings. You retain full control of the worker's day-to-day tasks. We carry the legal and compliance responsibility.
Yes, completely. You manage the worker's schedule, tasks, performance expectations, and day-to-day direction. The EOR arrangement only changes who holds the legal employer obligations. Nothing about how the work gets done changes from your perspective.
You notify GTA Staffing and we handle the full offboarding process compliantly. This includes providing the appropriate notice or pay in lieu under the Ontario ESA, issuing a Record of Employment with Service Canada, processing final pay, and completing all required documentation. You have no direct termination liability.
With a standard staffing placement, GTA Staffing finds the worker for you. With EOR, you may already have the worker in mind. Our EOR service is about taking on the employer obligations for a worker you have already identified: someone you found yourself, a former contractor you want to bring on properly, or a hire from another source.
Pricing is based on the number of workers, the nature of the engagement, and the services required. We provide a custom quote for every client. Contact us to discuss your situation and we will put together a transparent proposal with no hidden fees.
Yes. Transparency is required by law. Workers sign an employment contract with GTA Staffing and receive their pay stubs and T4 under our name. The arrangement is disclosed at onboarding. In practice, most workers understand the distinction between their legal employer and the business they perform work for every day.
